Q. Do I pay the monthly plan fee plus the per minute rates for calls? [Back to Top]

No. We offer 3 plans and depending on which plan you select, we offer different rates and the cost of the call is deducted form the monthly plan fee. If you bought the Gold Worldwide Plan for $39.95 all your calls would be deducted from the $39.95. After 30 days, your plan would automatically renew and you’d have #39.95 added to your account balance. If you used up your balance before 30 days, you can always go into your account and recharge any amount you want. If you had any unused minutes from the previous month, they would "roll over" (you never lose minutes).

Q. Which Plan has the lowest rates for international calls? [Back to Top]

The Platinum Worldwide Plan has the lowest rates for international calls. By purchasing the Platinum plan you will receive our lowest rates and 60 bonus minutes every month. International rates vary by country; please visit our Rates Page to find out the rate for the number you are calling.

Q. Which Plan has the lowest rates for US calls? [Back to Top]

The Platinum Worldwide Plan has the lowest rates for US calls. By purchasing the Platinum plan you will receive our lowest rates and 60 bonus minutes every month. International rates vary by country; please visit our Rates Page to find out the rate for the number you are calling.

Q. Can I share my minutes with friends and family? [Back to Top]

Yes. You can share your minutes. You also have the ability to purchase multiple plans. This allows for everyone in the family to have their own pin.
*Pins may not be used at the same time. Multiple users of a pin at one time will result in an "invalid pin" during the call.

Q. When do I get the bonus minutes? [Back to Top]

Bonus minutes are applied to your account on your renewal anniversary.

Q. When do I have to pay again? [Back to Top]

Each Plan is recharged automatically every month. If you used up your balance before 30 days, you can always go into your account and recharge in the amount of $10, $25, $50. If you had any unused minutes from the previous month, they would "roll over" (you never lose minutes).

Q. How long of a commitment is there? [Back to Top]

You can cancel your plan at anytime. Upon cancellation your pin will expire at the end of it's current 30 day cycle at which time the pin will be inactive and all unused minutes will be terminated.

Q. What happens if I don’t use all my minutes during the month? [Back to Top]

Don't worry you won't lose any minutes. All unused minutes from the previous month will rollover if your account is still active.

Q. What if I use all my minutes before the Plan renews the next month? [Back to Top]

If you use all your minutes before the end of the month you can recharge your account. Recharges can be made in increments of $10, $20, and $50. MinutesOnline allows only one recharge transaction per 24-hour period.

Q. How is this different from 1+ long distance or from prepaid phone cards? [Back to Top]

MinutesOnline is different from other programs in that there are no hidden fees and customers have access to online real-time billing. With prepaid phone cards there are fees, surcharges, high minute rounding and you never really know if your calls are being deducted from the balance correctly. Minutes Online provides customers with access to their call details online. You can see the time, date, length, rate and charges on each and every call. With 1+ long distance services you have to wait to the end of the billing cycle to see call details on your statement.

Q. Can I switch from one plan to another? [Back to Top]

Yes. You are able to switch from one plan to another on the anniversary of your account start date. Contact Customer Service at 1-800-215-4922 for more information.

Q. When do I receive my gift card? [Back to Top]

Upon activation of your account with MinutesOnline please allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery of your gift cards.

Q. Are there any surcharges or hidden fees? [Back to Top]

No. There are no other fees except for applicable taxes. 3% Federal Excise Tax and $.85 USF (Universal Service Fund) required by law.

Q. What is your rate for in-state calls? [Back to Top]

Rates for in-state or state to state calls are the same depending on which MOL service you subscribed to. You can check the rates on the MOL home page.

To find a local access number in your area, please visit our Local Access Page.

Q. What are your international rates? [Back to Top]

International rates vary by country; please visit our Rates Page to find out the rate for the number you are calling.

* Note: From time to time, MinutesOnline.com adjusts prices to conform to new costs or reductions in cost. We recommend that you check our rate table periodically.

Q. Why was I charged the international rate for 'Mobile/Others'? [Back to Top]

The classification of a number as "Mobile/other" means that the number has been deemed a special connection, and usually results in a higher rate.

Q. How much is MinutesOnline's monthly fee? [Back to Top]

Minutesonline.com does not charge any monthly fee.

Q. What is the 55¢ surcharge for? [Back to Top]

When dialing a toll free number (MinutesOnline's 1-888 access number) from payphones, the Federal Communications Commission allows private service providers that host the line to charge a fee. When a customer connects to MinutesOnline’s toll free access number from one of those locations, MinutesOnline is charged, regardless of whether or not the customer dials a destination number.

As a result, MinutesOnline charges 55 cents to cover the average cost of the complete and incomplete calls customers make using its toll free access number.

You can identify the surcharge as an extra charge below the corresponding call in your account billing information.

MinutesOnline cannot pre-determine if the surcharge will be imposed from any particular phone. This can only be determined after placing a call. In general, all public payphones incur this charge. Not all of the other locations impose the surcharge.

Q. How are my rates determined? [Back to Top]

Rates are determined by the destination number being called and whether you are calling using a local access number or the toll free access number.

For international rates, please visit our Rates Page.
To find a local access number in your area, please visit our Local Access Page.

Q. How does MinutesOnline calculate usage? [Back to Top]

MinutesOnline uses full-minute increments to calculate your usage, with partial minutes rounded up to the next full minute on the Platinum plan, two minutes on the Gold plan and three minutes on the Silver plan. The time displayed in an account holder's billing is the time the call ended, in Pacific Time.

All calls placed within the contiguous United States (excluding Alaska and Hawaii) to any number in the contiguous United States (excluding Alaska and Hawaii) will be charged an additional rate of 1¢ per minute for the 1-888 toll free access number. The best value is to use the local access numbers whenever possible.

To find a local access rate in your area, please visit our Local Access Page.
International rates vary by country, please visit our Rates Page to find out the rate for the number you are calling.

Q. Where is my online bill located? [Back to Top]

Please log in under 'My Account' and click 'Account Details' located near the right side of the page and then click 'Account'.

Q. How do I read my billing? [Back to Top]

Simply login to your account and your call history will be displayed at the bottom of the page. You will see the number you dialed from, the number you dialed to, the number of minutes used, the rate per minute, payphone surcharge if any and the total call charge.

Q. Will I be charged for calls that are not connected (non-connected)? [Back to Top]

You should not be charged for non-connected calls. In the unlikely event that you are ever charged for non-connected calls we will be more than happy to refund you the amount.

Requests for credits on calls with connection or quality problems will be considered if:

1.) The call is less than two minute in duration
2.) The same number was dialed within two minutes of the initial attempt. Basically, if you didn't get a good connection the first time, we'll be happy to refund your attempts.
3.) MinutesOnline WILL ONLY REVIEW CREDIT REQUESTS FOR CALLS PLACED WITHIN THE LAST 30 DAYS. REQUESTS FOR CALLS PLACED WITHIN THE LAST 30 DAYS.

If your calls follow all the guidelines stated above, please email us with the date, time, and destination number of the call(s) in question. If you are requesting credit for multiple calls, please include the details of each call in a single email. A general request for “all one minute calls within the last 30 days” will not be honored.

Calls that are greater than one minute in duration are assumed to be of adequate quality and refunds will not be issued. If there is a quality issue with your call, please hang up and try again. If the problem persists, please email us.

Any other information that would help MinutesOnline to resolve the signal quality problems is also appreciated.

Q. Will I be charged for busy signals? [Back to Top]

You should not be charged for busy signals. In the unlikely event that charges do appear on your billing statement, please email us with the date, time of you call and we will be more than happy to credit you back.

Requests for refunds on calls with connection or quality problems will be considered if:

1.) The call is less than one minute in duration
