A local access number is a number local to an area, which allows a MinutesOnline user to access the MinutesOnline system at a cheaper rate. Some international countries also have local access rates. You may view these rates by visiting the homepage and clicking the 'Local Access' option located in the left-side toolbar.
To search for a local access number, go to the homepage, and click on the Local Access option on the left-hand side toolbar. Enter your area code and the first three digits of your phone number. If there is a local access number in your area, a list will appear on the next page. If not, then you may request for one by clicking a link that will direct you to leave your information and request that a number be made available in your area.
You may dial a local access number from any phone in the local access area.

An account cannot be limited to dial a single destination phone number. As long as an account has enough of a positive balandce, it may be used to call anywhere MinutesOnline covers.
A Toll-Free access number is a 1-888 number, which allows a MinutesOnline user to access MinutesOnline for all domestic and international calls. The toll-free access number for your account can be found when you login to the MY ACCOUNT section.
International rates vary. To view these rates, please visit our Rates Page.
Toll Free calls are inherently costlier to provide than a local access call. This is because a toll free service provides the convenience to place the call nationwide from any private or public phone. This is not the case with a Local Access call since it is restricted to placing a call to a local number which is much more restrictive than having national and both public and private phone access.
For these differences, MinutesOnline and any other telephone service provider have to pay higher fees to provide national coverage and reserve national capacity to make toll free service available. Therefore toll-free access has always been a higher priced service. That is why we charge a slightly higher price for toll free calls and why we have more pricing flexibility for local access calls.
From anywhere you can dial a 1-888 number. Please note that a 55¢ surcharge may apply when making calls from US payphones. Also, please note that some wireless providers do block access to toll free lines. We recommend all users to contact their wireless providers to verify if they are able to place calls using our Toll-Free Access line without a charge.
Placing calls through MinutesOnline is a four-step process:
